Welcome to the Temple of Ludus!
We are an organization dedicated to advocacy of games and gaming. We are thrilled to have you here!
Why make a religion about games?
Each religion is a group of deeply held beliefs. People tend to seek out others with similar beliefs. They often meet regularly, build organizations, and recognize others of the same belief from disparate backgrounds and parts of the world.
There are many organizations that already gather people to game. Local game stores offer space for the community to play games, often for free. Public libraries sometimes have games available and have the space to play them. Both profitable and non-profit corporations organize conventions where vendors, exhibitors, manufacturers, and gamers can all meet and have fun. This religion is another layer on top of that. We wanted a space where a community could gather resources for a gaming event and be confident that no individual is profiting from it. To know that all monies gathered would be used for the furthering of gaming. This is that space.
